The Jessica– monogrammed toasted croco
One lucky lady has a very thoughtful husband who sat down with me and helped design this toasted chocolate croco monogrammed bag for her Christmas present. I was very pleased with the results. Special thanks to Cajun Monogramming in Sulphur, LA for the monogram. It was their first time trying a monogram on leather, and the results were fabulous!
This is the back side; it has a zippered outside pocket and two pouches for stowing car key and cell phone.
The top closure has a zippered “boat panel” closing. The interior is lined and has 2 inside non-zippered pockets as well.
The Kalie–turquoise/brown cross-body tasseled
Then I made this one for my lovely daughter-in-law. She wanted the turquoise and brown embossed leather with lots of fringe. She came up with the idea of the ear tag tassels.
So my son went out in the pasture and collected two tags for me to use. On the backside of the white fly-tag, I attached my leather label.
This cross-body design has two outside pockets and two zippered compartments under the flap. It’s fully lined and the flap is edged with a nifty flat braid. I also attached a leather feather charm to one edge of the flap.
I make this design in two sizes and in this turquoise/brown embossed leather, in croco embossed leather in several different colors, hair-on hide (which looks fabulous, it’s my favorite), and I even have some purple and gold leather for the die-hard LSU fans.
The vintage rice sack
Shortly before Christmas, a lady approached me about making her a shopping bag from an old 50# rice sack she’d picked up in Round Top. She asked me if I could make it into a bag with a clasp closure and leather handles.
Here’s what I came up with. The sack is lined with blue and white ticking fabric, which gives it that vintage feel. The rice sack was in pretty good condition, and I think the finished product came out really well.
