Yeah, I know this is under “Beef” recipes, but you can use this for beef ribs as well. It’s super easy, and super delicious.
Ingredients
4-5 lb. St. Louis style pork ribs, or baby back ribs, or beef ribs
For the rub: *See note
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp. course salt
2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. Oriental spicy dry mustard
1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
*Note: This looks like too many ingredients; however, feel free to adjust according to taste or availability. If you don’t happen to have a few of these on hand, don’t sweat it. Make do with what you’ve got, or substitute one of your own.
In addition:
3 cups good quality Bar-B-Que sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray’s)
1 cup liquid (such as: water, beer, red wine, or even Bloody Mary mix)
Instructions:
Mix the rub ingredients together in a small(ish) bowl. Cut the ribs into pieces that will fit in your slow cooker. Rub the pieces with the prepared rub, making sure to get all sides. You can do this before-hand and let marinate, but you don’t have to. Place the ribs in slow cooker and pour the Bar-B-Que sauce and the additional liquid over them.
Set the slow cooker on high for about 4 hours. (You can also use the low setting for longer if you choose). You’re done!!
