1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix ½ pint sour crème
¾ cups vegetable oil 1 stick butter (recipe says “oleo”)
4 eggs 2 tblspns. sugar
1 cup chopped pecans 1 tblspn. cinnamon
Blend cake mix, oil and softened butter in a mixing bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time; beat according to directions on cake mix box, folding in sour crème. Fold in pecans. Pour half the batter into a greased tube pan; mix the dry sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter in pan; pour the rest of batter in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Cool in pan five minutes before icing.
This is one of Nanny’s “original” recipes that I found in an old cookbook. I vaguely remember her making this one.
