I fiddled around with several different recipes; here’s what I came up with. They all follow the same procedure:
Dissolve the jello in the boiling water; add the other liquid; pour into plastic shot servers or empty syringes.
Cinnamon-Cherry (Christmas)
1 package cherry (or black cherry) jello
1 cup boiling water
1/3 cup Hot Damn cinnamon schnapps
1/3 cup white rum
1/3 cup maraschino cherry juice
Scooby Snacks
1 package pineapple jello (if you can find it), if not unflavored gelatin
1 cup boiling water or pineapple juice
1/3 cup Malibu coconut rum
1/3 cup melon liqueur
1/3 cup crème de banana liqueur
Chocolate Covered Cherry Shots
1 package cherry jello
1 cup boiling water
½ cup cherry schnapps
½ cup white rum
12 maraschino cherries
Magic Shell ice cream topping
Whipped cream
Dissolve the jello in the boiling water; add the other liquid; fill plastic shot servers about ¾ full. Chill slightly, about 15 minutes; set one maraschino cherry in the middle of each shot, embedding in the jello. Let set until firm, about an hour. Cover each shot with a thin layer of Magic Shell topping, pop into freezer for 10 minutes, remove to refrigerator and let set for about an hour. Right before serving, garnish with a shot of whipped cream.
Scooby Snacks Pudding Shots
1 package Jello instant banana pudding mix
1 cup cold milk
¼ cup banana liqueur
¼ cup melon liqueur
¼ cup Malibu coconut rum
¼ cup pineapple rum (or juice)
Beat pudding mix and milk together until smooth. Add the rest of the liquid and pour into shot cups or syringes. Chill until set.
Strawberry Cheesecake Pudding Shots
1 package Jello instant cheesecake pudding mix
1 cup cold milk
½ cup rum
½ cup Malibu rum
1 package strawberry jello
1 cup boiling water
½ cup strawberry schnapps
½ cup Malibu rum
Chopped strawberries (fresh or frozen)
Beat pudding mix and milk together until smooth. Add ½ cup rum and ½ cup Malibu rum, mix until smooth and fill shot cups half full. Chill until set about an hour.
Dissolve the jello in the boiling water; add the other liquid and strawberries; let cool slightly, about 15 minutes. Pour over the pudding filled shots until cups are full; chill until set, about an hour.
