Cuban Mojito

Anyone can grow mint, and fresh mint is best! This is a cool, refreshing summer drink.

10-12 fresh mint leaves 1 jigger white rum*
2 tbsp. sugar or 2 envelopes artificial sweetener ice
juice from ½ lime club soda

Set aside a few mint leaves for garnish. Mix remaining mint, sugar, and lime juice in a small bowl. Crush the mint with a pestle or the blunt end of a butter knife or wooden spoon. Strain through a small strainer into a high-ball glass filled with ice. Add rum and stir. Top off glass with club soda and garnish with a mint leaf.

**To make a Mojito martini, substitute vodka for the rum.
